JAY LENO’S GARAGE
1932 MORGAN THREE-WHEELER
The oldest continuous British automobile manufacturer, the Morgan Motor Company was founded in 1909 by H.F.S. Morgan. A trained engineer, Morgan opened a garage business out of which he also sold cars and started one of England's first bus lines. After purchasing an early three-wheeled vehicle, Morgan decided to build one for personal use, with economy and speed as his ultimate goals.

Shortly after Vincenzo Lancia was born in 1881, his father chose his future, deciding that his son would become a lawyer. Sadly, Vincenzo proved inattentive at his studies, so papa Giuseppe reformulated his plan, sending his son to college at age 12 with the goal of becoming an accountant. It was about that time that Vincenzo started hanging out at the local bike shop, and soon demonstrated talent as a mechanic.

What makes a Hummer look like a Geo Metro? A 1941 American LaFrance fire truck, that's what. With a 256 horsepower engine under the hood and a unique modification in back, this classic beauty not only runs like a dream, but is also the most practical vehicle in Jay's collection. All that, and it only costs a measly 200 bucks to fill up the tank.

In the late 1940s, engineer and RAF pilot Colin Chapman decided to utilize the experience he gained in the skies on the ground, by building a racecar in his girlfriend's garage. While still holding down his day job, Chapmen begged, borrowed and bartered to create his prototype, which he entered in a time trial as an afterthought.

When W.O. Bentley reluctantly sold his company to Rolls Royce in 1931, he never dreamed that his marque would become akin to the company's redheaded stepchild. Chief Engineer Mike Dunn joined the company in 1983, and one of his first tasks was to re-imagine the Mulsanne Turbo, which was pretty much a superfast Silver Spirit.
